More Foot Guards and some crazy blogger's giveaway

2 light companies (10 figures) from the 2nd Batt. 2nd Regiment Foot Guards and 2nd Batt. 3rd Reg. Foot Guards.
The first figure is from HaT's British Peninsular Infantry, and there are a few from A Call to Arms and the others from ESCI.
Back to that officer, I painted him as a surgeon, but the jacket is not exactly the same... I don't know which rank is supposed to represent, but he will be the surgeon present at Hougoumont during the firts moments of Waterloo.
Now, I am doing the bases.

Not that I paint the same things Mr. James Brewerton does, but I love to see others' works, no matter scale or era!

Hoje apresento a primeira companhia (são 4) de Chasseurs (por ser infantaria ligeira).

Today I present the first (of 4) Chasseurs (talking about light infantry) company.

Teseu e o Minotauro

Theseus and the Minotaur...

Estava eu a actualizar informação sobre a época micénica e minóica, quando pelo meio se mete a lenda do Minotauro...
Bem, vamos já ver que figuras há aqui para fazer uma pequena vinheta! Da Antiguidade não tenho muita variedade, Micénicos (gregos) armados até aos dentes e também troianos, Povos do Mar (fossem lá quem fossem) e cavalaria grega (carros de combate da antiguidade). E uma vaca a quem tirei a cabeça e o rabo.
Então, a vaca é da Atlantic - Stampede, o corpo do Minotauro é da HaT - Sea Peoples, Teseu é um condutor de carros grego, com um braço do soldado.

Para que as figuras se vissem, não podia deixar as paredes do labirinto muito altas. Se voltasse a fazer, acho que os deixaria no meio de uma grande câmara...


I was reading a few things about the Mycenaean and Minoan periods when the legend of the Minotaur was mentioned. I knew it already, of course, but this sudden urge to do something about this theme was new! So, what have I got that can be used? Not much, not many cloths on (if any!) to represent, so... Sea Peoples and Greek Cavalry... and a cow from Stampede! The final pose of the Minotaur is not the most impressive, but this soldier was the one I felt could fit better in the role, cutting the less I could! Theseus is the driver of a Greek car, with a borrowed arm from the soldier he should drive.

Making the figures well visible wouldn't be easy if I kept the labyrinth walls tall... thinking about it, I should have represented a big room with them at the center....

Now that's new! Two post on the same day!
With a few projects being carried at the same time, makes a lot (pff) of new things being concluded (or almost) in a short period of time...
This is only part of one of those projects. Tomorrow I'll show the whole thing.

Medieval figures

Strelets Roman Transport (8), Strelets Medieval Levy 2 (2), HaT El Cid Spanish Light Cavalry (1) and Nexus Ancient Life (1) make this group, and there's another cavalryman missing, from Italeri Templar Knights.
I'm not the first to convert the Roman Transport figures into medieval ones. After looking at the photos, there are a few that are not "as finished" as I wanted...

Os conjuntos de figuras indicados acima são os que estão presentes na imagem. Não sou o primeiro a converter as figuras romanas em medievais, veremos se o conjunto funciona... Ia dar as figuras por completas mas depois de ver as fotos ainda tenho de dar uns retoques em algumas.
